Spinal Research and Education Foundation

Dr. Lonner works with his dedicated research team of 2 full-time research assistants, 4 medical students, 2 residents, and 3 fellows to maintain a prolific portfolio addressing diverse topics in spine care. Together, they have published 46 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented over 84 abstract publications at multiple orthopaedic research conferences, including the meetings of the Scoliosis Research Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.

Specific topics of research include the impact of race on scoliosis severity in the US, comparative disease severity in the US, Egypt, England, Canada, and Ghana, and validating outcome questionnaires measuring psychological and physical effects of scoliosis and its treatment. In support of such research efforts, Dr. Lonner has established a charitable, tax-exempt research fund, the Scoliosis Research and Education Foundation (SREF).
